Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device. Similar technologies include browser storage, pixels, and server logs. They can help a site remember a choice, measure performance, or support secure operation.

How this website currently uses them

The Archive uses one essential first-party cookie, __Host-haif_member, after you verify an email link. It contains a random session credential, not your email address, and is marked HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. It expires after 30 days. The server checks the credential against a session record associated with a keyed, non-readable email reference so all sessions for an address can be revoked together. Signing out revokes the current session and clears the cookie. You can also request a confirmation link on our Privacy Policy page to revoke all Archive sessions for your address. Without a valid session, archive access is unavailable. Google Analytics 4 is optional and loads only if you select “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. After you accept, Google Analytics may place first-party analytics cookies, such as _ga, to distinguish visits. If you reject analytics or have not made a choice, the Analytics tag is not loaded.

Your controls

Use the “Cookie settings” button on any page to change your analytics choice. If you reject after previously accepting, the site stops sending page views and removes Google Analytics cookies it can access; this does not delete data already collected by Google. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies can affect Archive access. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. For privacy questions or requests, see our Privacy Policy.
